TIME published a special commemorative issue on Michael Jackson to hit newsstands on Monday, June 29, 2009. The 'King of Pop' graces the cover one last time in a retro black and white photo.

For the first Time in eight years, the news magazine published a special edition between weekly issues. The last time the glossy issued a commemorative edition between issues was after September 11, 2001.

For the issue, Time magazine spoke with people that were influenced and touched by the Pop Icon, including Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Nancy Regan, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, John Mayer, and many others.

They have also published special issues commemorating other breaking news events like the election of President Obama, and the untimely deaths of Princess Diana and JFK Jr.
